Ambulatory EEG Testing:

We can add ambulatory EEG testing to your practice. Ambulatory EEG can be a very valuable addition to a neurology program and can prove to be a more cost effective method for acquiring long-term EEG data.

It is a relatively recent technology that allows prolonged EEG recording in the patient’s natural environment where they are more likely to experience habitual events. It also increases the chance of recording both ictal and interictal EEG data continuously for up to 72 hours.

How the Service Works:

• Physician refers the patient to United Neuro Diagnostic Services, LLC for set-up
• Patient set-up and patient education is performed by our EEG technologist
• Patient goes home with the Ambulatory EEG system for continuous monitoring
• Patient returns after 24-72 hours
• Our technologist downloads data, reviews and verifies quality of the recording
• Board Certified Epileptologist provides interpretation of results in detailed report
• Report and sample EEG tracings are sent to the referring physician

We can help refer your patient to one of our Board Certified Epileptologists:
Patients are referred to our group for one of the following reasons:

• The diagnosis of epilepsy is unclear.
• A diagnosis of a seizure disorder has been given, but the type of epilepsy has not been definitively established.
• The use of medication as a treatment option has not been totally successful.
• Patients who have been seizure free for some time, and wish to discontinue their antiepileptic medication.
